The West Side
West of Somes Sound the island is quieter: Beech Mountain and Canada Cliffs, Echo Lake, the Lurvey Spring road, Acadia and St. Sauveur, the old farms and logging roads of Western Mountain and Seal Cove Road, and the shore at Seawall and Ship Harbor. Stonework from old footbridges still spans the brooks. The Southwest Harbor village society kept these paths in the years before the park.
